What Are You Waiting For?

Muscles ache from working hand to shovel to rake to trowel and I remember that I am dust. That my days number the way he counts them on my head, from beginning to end. Birds build nests, squirrels bury acorns, trees sprawl green leafy canopy in summer’s sun to fulfill created purpose. So what keeps me from fulfilling mine. Are you fulfilling yours?

Do birds bury acorns, squirrels lay eggs?

May we live, you and I, wisdom-full in the counting of days. Let’s satifsy our spot in the world  as written wet ink in the book of life. He’s turned the page to start the next chapter. So what are we waiting for?

Beautiful! I turn 55 this August and am excited that I am stepping out and doing some things God put on my heart years ago.

    • http://myredeemedlife.wordpress.com Redemption’s Beauty

I’m getting close to the fifth decade with a birthday in August as well. And I love that age doesn’t determine our value, purpose and call when it comes to following Christ. So encouraged by your tenacity to step out Elizabeth, how awesome!

Good encouragement– to number our days and to begin them well with our focus on the Lord!
I am glad also, to meet you through S&S.

This is much on my mind these days as I look for full-time work after a job with the same company for many years. I’ve spent so long working to make a living, and still need to, but does He have a new direction, something more suited to the gifts I think He’s given… something of joy that will bring Him glory… something that puts me more on the way to what I was created to do?? Mmm… yes, Psalm 90 is my prayer, listening and seeking… Beautiful words!

Pam, I was just thinking about you today. Was planning to visit and then I got distracted. Well, now I know how to pray for you. Thanks so much for sharing your heart here. I can’t wait to see what God will do. So often, times of transition turn out to be the preparation for something new ahead that is different.

As I am awaiting that too, Pam and Shelly.

I also wish I could make my son get out of his box. In His time, I know, he will. I didn’t become a Christian until I was older. I wish I had…. but God writes my story.

Thank you for this beautiful leading, Shelly.

Each new day is like a new page in God’s story for us. I need to be more mindful of there being purpose in each and every day. Thank you Shelly.

    Blessings,

No day is wasted when He gives us breathe. There is purpose in every minute with Him. Thankful for new pages in the story that is mine, that is yours Laura. Thanks for stopping by today.

So good, the pictures, the verses, awesome.

This is so encouraging, Shelly. (And your photos are always beautiful.) I have to guard against dwelling on the past, regretting that I didn’t do more for Jesus when I was younger, but I can’t let that stop me from fulling His purpose for me today. Blessings and happy Sunday.

Not a single minute of our lives is waste in God’s economy, He uses it all. And yes, just look forward with determination knowing you have future pages to fulfill.

Such wisdom and beauty here. And freedom in remembering I wasn’t created to bury acorns or lay eggs. :)

    • http://myredeemedlife.wordpress.com Redemption’s Beauty

You made me laugh. I was thinking that comparing my life to someone else is like a squirrel laying eggs, its a bit ridiculous.

WOW, while sometimes waiting LATELY … it’s been such sweet surrender to discover … no matter what we do … HE just does what HE does while I have done no thing but sit still & wait.

    • http://myredeemedlife.wordpress.com Redemption’s Beauty

Amen to that. Religion is doing, Christianity is spelled DONE. We don’t have to do anything, He already has done it all. Nice to meet you Sonya.

I was just speaking with my son about his encouragement for me to step outside of the box. It’s been so renewing for me.
    Have a very blessed week.

    • http://myredeemedlife.wordpress.com Redemption’s Beauty

Oh, that’s lovely to have your son recognizing that in you. Thanks for sharing.

Wisdom is a “good thing”. I rely on it, day by day. — NOW, if I’d focus on it as second by second, maybe I’d be a brighter lady. Hmm! Guess I should give this a good shot!!!

    Beautiful, Shelly.

I don’t like to think about squirrels ever since my recent encounter….I guess they are waiting for the opportunity to eat one another! Truly though, this is lovely…we are to be expectant, pregnant with hope…

    • http://myredeemedlife.wordpress.com Redemption’s Beauty

Oh, your encounter was mortifying. So sorry you witnessed that. I don’t like squirrels. I know God made them but they aren’t my favorites.
